Groups

Swimmers at Surfside are assigned to one of four training groups. Each swimmer's assigment is based on the individual's demonstrated skill, maturity, and dedication. Our training groups are:

Moving Up

Moves from one group are subject to approval by the Head Coach. Swimmers are assigned to practice groups based on specific guidelines to determine where the swimmer can best develop. Swimmers are not promoted on the basis of time in place, rather on ability and dedication. All swimmers will swim in a group that best fits their abilities. Although group reassignment is rare, no group assignment is permanent. A swimmer assigned to one group may not swim with a different group without prior coach approval.
